Crane Kits


Not only does OMIS deliver complete cranes to end-users, but it also supplies crane kits or parts to small crane manufactures and distributors all around the world. Given the bulky structure of a crane, this solution allows saving on transportation costs.
A crane kit is the full set of parts a crane is made of, with the exception of the main girders. It normally includes:

end carriages with gearmotors and connecting flanges, lifting unit, electrical cabinet, festoons track system, pendant push-button station and limit switches, girders construction drawings, electrical drawings.
Parts can also be purchased separately.

End Carriages

OMIS offers a wide range of end carriages for single and double girder bridge cranes, for hook capacities up to 60 tons. The box girder construction, appropriately stiffened through internal diaphragms, ensures high resistance to bending and torsional stress.
Manufactured by means of high-technology processes involving automated welding and machining centres, OMIS end carriages feature high precision and modularity of components.
The generously sized wheels are fabricated in high quality, nodular cast iron. They can also be supplied in alloy steel whenever required by the specific rail profile or by the mechanical properties imposed by more severe speed conditions.
Self-aligning bushes are fitted into the bolted connections to guarantee perfect bridge assembly. Buffers are fabricated from polyurethane resin featuring high shock-absorbing resistance.
Gearmotors are also produced in-house and cover a standard range of motor powers from 0.37 to 4 kW. They have been designed to satisfy the crane market requisite for smooth starting and slow-down.
The large production output allows cost effectiveness and fast delivery.


Hoists

The reliability of our OPE hoists is endorsed by 20 years of success throughout Europe and by the loyalty of thousands of customers who recognize it as being extremely versatile, cost-effective and easy to service.
The OPE hoist has been designed with rectangular shape, which allows fitting-up on all frame sides. The drum can be accessed from all four sides. Motor and gearbox are simply flanged to the main frame to allow easy maintenance.
The OPE hoists mount a cylindrical rotor motor suitable for inverter use, though dual stage pole change motors are also available upon request. The motor is connected to the gearbox fast shaft through a flexible coupling, and it is fitted outside the hoist body to allow easy maintenance and adequate cooling. It features protection IP54, insulation class F.
The load limit device is a strain-gauge cell enclosed in the fixed-end pin, and it is connected to an electronic card where two load thresholds can be set up to prevent hoist overloading in accordance with the European specifications.


Open Barrel Hoists

OMIS has been manufacturing open barrel hoists for over 40 years and the present production represents the apex in terms of variety, quality and cost-effectiveness. Reliability is guaranteed by in-house fabrication of all mechanical components that are carefully inspected till the final assembling.
Standard hoists are available in both single and double-reeved configuration, load capacity varies from 3.2 to 60 ton, though larger capacity hoists are also available. Normal height of lift is 10 and 15 m, but higher hook paths are frequently produced in our workshops.
Motors are operated through Inverters, nevertheless dual stage, pole change solutions can also be delivered.

Electrical Cabinets and Cable Tracks

Electrical cabinets are built from thick metal sheet and feature a mechanically inter-locked circuit breaker. Index of protection is IP54.
Standard panels are equipped with three inverters, one for each crane movement, and are normally fitted with Harting-type connectors. Cables are labeled according to the relevant electrical diagrams supplied along with the crane kit.
All electrical cabinets OMIS produces are checked through testing machines prior to shipment, so that faults are limited to nearly zero percent.
Pendants feature two steps push buttons for all movements and an emergency push button.
Cable track systems can be built with hollow steel sections or open profiles in accordance to crane capacity and span. Cable trolleys can be plastic type or metal construction for heavier applications.
